Mr. Knoxville 2007

Happy Monday!

I haven't laughed this hard in a while, and I'm telling you, if you need a good chuckle you need to make your way to the Mr. Knoxville pageant on Thursday night. This morning, Nate and I got four hilarious guys out of bed before dawn to show us the skills they'll be using to win the title. If you didn't catch it, I'll paint a picture for you: four grown men, dressed as the Village People doing a choreographed routine. Yes, choreographed, and they tell me they've been practicing very hard. (And you can tell they have been since their moves were down pat!) They went all out..mustaches, hard hats and cowboy boots!  And that's what you can expect on Thursday. The man who collects the most money at the pageant will be crowned Mr. Knoxville 2007. The best part...it's all for charity!  All of the proceeds from the event go to Goodwill Industries. The event isn't just about raising money, it's to raise awareness about the 16 services Goodwill provides! You may only think of thrift stores when you hear "Goodwill", but they actually do a lot more in the community. Here's a few examples: driver education courses, computer training courses and certified nursing assistant courses...just to name a few. You can check it all out on their website (it's attached to the story on the East Tennessee This Morning page). If you can't make the event Thursday (which I highly recommend you do!!) but you still want to make a donation, you can stop by Goodwill. Thanks so much to Justin, Josh, Casey, Tyler and Liz for being there this morning...it was a blast! Good luck guys!

Have a great day! See you in the morning!

Allison

Great human-interest story Allison. Fun, yet informative - and for a great cause. I look forward to more, fun, stories of the same nature in the mornings.
