Happy Tuesday!
I guess I should really call this: "Watching Darlene Cook" because I didn't even touch a spoon, (which is probably a good thing!) Darlene Brown is our contest winner and who came on East Tennessee This Morning to bake her now-famous "Apple-Pear Crumble Pie". It's a recipe she tweeked and made her own from one her mom used to make. I think she got very comfortable in Chef Walter's kitchen because she did a fabulous job and made it look so easy. She mixed and mashed, stirred and sliced one of the yummiest desserts I've had in a while. Of course, the whole crew had to try it, and when we were done, there wasn't a crumb left in the pie pan. If you're wanting to add a new treat to your Thanksgiving menu, make it this one! Thank you to Darlene and her husband for making the early trip from Rutledge to bake for us. Great to meet you both!
