Trottin' With A Globetrotter!!

Happy Monday!

Is the theme song playing in your head yet? Take a second and try to think of it if not. Doesn't it just make you smile? I have to admit, I've never been to a Harlem Globetrotters game, but I've seen them on TV, and this morning, we were lucky enough to shoot around with one! Now, I didn't do much, he did most of the dunking, dribbling, around-the-back-no-look passing and shooting, but you have to check out the video, because I did make a pretty amazing shot. Moo Moo, if you're reading this, I'm sorry, but I totally showed you up! ;) Ha!

Herb "Moo Moo" Evans was great enough to roll out of bed very early this morning and show us what it takes to be a Globetrotter. You have to check out the video because he is amazing! He's been with the team for three years and is a Tennessee boy! He was born and raised in Memphis. He says it's always been his dream to play with the Globetrotters and it's an honor to be on the team. "Moo Moo" is a nickname given to him by his family because he drinks so much milk! It has nothing to do with basketball, but it followed him onto the court. He says he's with the basketball about 6 to 8 hours a day, practicing tricks and thinking of new ones. He travels all over the country and has been overseas to London. You can hopefully see him here in Knoxville on Monday, January 18th! He's not sure if he'll definitely be here with the team, but the Globetrotters will be!

Moo Moo showed me some tricks, and yes, I still need lots of practice. He helped me spin a ball on my finger which I've NEVER been able to do! (I posted a pic for ya.) We passed the ball back and forth using our knees and elbows. Moo Moo used his head, I was not about to try it. I also learned how to roll a ball from one arm, across my chest to the other arm. After hitting my chin several times, I finally got it. All of the other tricks he said would take about a month to learn. I'll let you know how they're going in February! ;)

See you in the morning!

Allison

I especially liked it when you brought out the head-band! And then you hit that shot blind-folded! Of course, this feature had me thinking: Allison's Globetrotter nick-name??? How 'bout 50-Inch!! (From the pics you seem sort of short, I'm just throwing that out there -- please don't take offense!)
