Hop Up In The Chair!

Happy Wednesday!

Some of my favorite memories with my Mom took place while sitting in the chair in her salon.  I spent most of my time growing up in that chair and have missed it, and her, so much since I moved away. I've laughed uncontrollably, cried uncontrollably and made promises to myself, and my hair, that I have since broke. I've had my eyebrows ripped off, my hair pulled, chopped and permed and watched a woman work hard her whole life. She's taught me a lot about hair care, but mostly about life, in that chair.

We've been getting several stories on volunteertv.com about Mom's here in East Tennessee. It's been so inspirational and heart warming to read how much of a difference these Mom's have made in their children's lives. If you get a few minutes, read through some of them, and I would LOVE to hear about some of your favorite memories with your Mom! Whether it's time that made you laugh, made you cry, or made you so angry you thought you'd never speak to her again, I'd love to hear it.

We never really appreciate our Mom's until we're older, far away or she's gone. How about instead of  making Mom feel special on Mother's Day, let's all make sure she knows just how much she means to us, today.

I love you Mom.

See you in the morning!

Allison

Well I guess Hop up in the chair is my chair! Well she makes me sound wonderful, but when your working with a great little girl who has grown into an amazing woman it sure helped. Being her mom and her sisters mom has always been my first priority and something i am so proud of. And she is right we never really know until we are mom's or grown up how much our own moms mean to us. I think I got alot of my "mom" skills from my mom, another amazing woman who shaped my life, she was at every event I was ever in, from sports to dinners to driving me everywhere and putting up with my not wanting to speak to anyone mornings and she continues along this path with her grand daughters..... Happy Mothers Day MOM.

Posted by: ArtichokeHeart My dad once had his hair permed, but that's a different holiday. Moms are fantastic about teaching us about life aren't they? And they always, always, listen when we have to get something off our chest. My mother made a point to 'tuck me in' each night growing up, I think we spent at least 30 minutes talking about life each time. (I finally had to cut that off though, once I began thinking I was too tough for mother-talks at night!) Male ignorance I suppose because we never are without the need for a mother's advice and love! Happy Mother's Day Mom, I love you.
