One woman wanted one since she was a little girl. Another decided to adopt one when all of her children moved out. Thousands of people are filling voids in their lives by adopting monkeys.

Our Noon News producer shared this strange story with me. According to the article, there are 15,000 monkeys living with humans as pets or surrogate children. These adoptive parents take the monkids in when they are just weeks old, put them in diapers and treat them just like humans. They drink from bottles, sit in height chairs and go to the park just like any other toddler. It's amazing to watch the interaction and see how serious they are when they call these monkeys "daughters" and "sons".
