Until recently, I had forgotten how much I enjoy "CBS Sunday Morning."   The show is considered a throwback to the "old guard" CBS style of thoughtful news broadcasting.  A style that has almost vanished from television.

I stumbled upon a segment of the show while searching for information regarding the new lead singer of the rock band Journey (blog entry).  The Journey segment quickly reminded me of the simple reason why the newsmagazine is so appealing.

It tells stories, very well.  That's it.

Any show that has a feature detailing  "The History of the American Lawnmower," and makes it interesting, is doing something right.  Better watch while we can.  CBS Sunday Morning is one of a kind, and I doubt there will be any replicas in the future.
