You ever had too much of a good thing?  I did, and vanished from the social networking world for a while.

My generation, and those older, easily remember life before Facebook.  Before Twitter.  Before smartphones.  And honestly, it was pretty nice.  No doubt, this is an amazing time to be alive.  Technology is changing at a pace like we’ve never experienced.  Anywhere, anytime, anyplace, there are few limits to what we can do thanks to today’s advancements.

Before the instant communication explosion, there was something nice about getting into a car, shutting the door, and leaving the world behind.  You weren’t technically tethered  to anything.  Nowadays, if your family, friends, or work place, can’t get in touch with you within two minutes, someone is usually upset.

It all became a ball and chain to me, so I cut loose for a while.  My social networking batteries are recharged and I’m back in the rat race.  Only this time, at a much slower pace.

Yes, I know how you felt. I have thought several times that I would just "cut loose", but I guess I am too hooked on all this new technology to leave it for long! Glad you are back.
