Posted by: Lynn Location: Maryville Ration gas to the rich and give free gas to the working poor. Posted by: Terry Location: Knoxville The people that think up this things forget about the ones that need every day to work to get buy. That would heart them a lot if they make it a four day work day did they think about that I DO NOT THINK SO!!!! Posted by: Eddie Location: Knoxville The knowledge for high gas mileage has been around for years. But if we had high mileage cars then the oil companies would loose money. Posted by: JackC Location: Knoxville If all car makers would increase gas mileage to 200 miles to the gallon, it sure would help save the oil and the people we buy gas from might get the idea that they need to help their own people. I have a book that was re-printed in 1982 on how to get 200 miles per gal. Surely there is enough knowledge nowdays that car makers know how to do this. The oil we use today will someday run out and then what?? Posted by: evelina this is the perfect example why we should all utilize our right to vote . and as sad as the prices are, were on the roads, and im not talking about going to work or the grocery thats different. we cant afford to do either with these outrageous prices. Posted by: Terry Location: harrogate Me and my wife got a phone call last night, they said we definetly won one of the following prizes,a 2008 Lincoln navigater, $2500.00,7 night cruise, or a 32`` flat panel tv,they gave us a claim # and made us an apointment to come and get our prize in Gatlingburg at westgate smokie mtn.neither of us remember entering, and its around 100 miles from here, with her taking off work and gas prices the way they are it will cost us around $75.00 to go.should we waste our time and money to go claim our prize that we did`nt enter to win or not. Posted by: ted Location: harrogate remember when Bill Clinton was the president, and gas prices were $1.30 a gallon and the united states had a surplus instead of a deficet and the united states was headed towards being the richist country in the world, but then the republicans took over and now we are just another third world country with a few rich republicans, everytime I pull in to pump gas it makes me proud to be a Democrat. Posted by: Gary Location: E.Tenn Ray is right. The government shouldn't have a #$%&%% thing to do with gas prices. The government makes more per gallon than the oil companies, the wholesalers, or the retailers. If you aren't aware of the facts you shouldn't complain. Posted by: Ray Location: Knoxvile One question I haven't heard anyone ask is why the government makes more money from a gallon of gas than the so-called big oil companies?I lived in europe a number of years ago & at that time we were paying a little under 5 dollars per gallon. I can only imagine what the price is now. Everyone asks why hasn't the president do anything? Well it is not the governments place to control prices. That is the responsibility of the market place. Do they not teach simple economics in school these days? Posted by: JULISHA66 Location: TENNESSEE Not just the gas, what about diesel and it should be the cheapest. Posted by: sarah Location: rockwood why wont the president help us,i remember other presidents did by freezing gas prices before letting them get like this,i know he could help but he does nothing.Something needs to be done and done now! Posted by: Scott Location: Seymour This is why I am doing most of my shopping online. I drive daily and spend around $600 a month in fuel and yes this is putting a serious dent in my wallet. Something has to be done! Maybe we should get cost of fuel raises as well as cost of living raises. Posted by: Butterfly Location: tennessee I think if all americans would boycott these ridiculous fuel prices then the government would have to back down.Recession is gonna hit if something aint done to stop these lunatics Posted by: foust9205 Location: KNOXVILLE YES IT WILL CHANGE EVERYONE PLANS FOR THE HOLIDAYS I THINK THAT THESE GAS PRICES ARE INSANE HOW IS ANYONE SUPPOSTED TO LIVE AND GET BACK AND FORTH TO WORK OR DOCTORS APPT. ETC... WITHOUT WORRYING ABOUT HAVING ENOUGH GAS TO GET THERE. TRAVELING IS OUT OF THE QUESTION
