Games, Galas, Gluten, Oh My!

Hey Friends,

Guess I have the "blogging blues" .. it's not like me to have not written in a while .. I apologize!  I've had plenty to write about but just not had the motivation to write I guess?  Maybe it's because I don't have many pictures and I LOVE To attach pictures to my blogs??  But I've attended numerous events and want to say THANK YOU to everyone that invited me to take part.  I was able to auction off my dress for charity at an event in Campbell County (actually I don't know that anyone got it yet so if you are interested let me know .. they may be putting it on ebay) and attend other fun events here and there .. so thank you all that asked me to participate!!

One of the biggest events I've attended in the past couple weeks was the Heartsong Gala (put on by ETTAC) this past weekend.  What a WONDERFUL and SUCCESSFUL event!!  I am asked to attend many "first time" events and they are all wonderful and successful in their own way, but I just want to applaud everyone at ETTAC, because this was not only by far the most organized FIRST time event I've been to, but one of the most organized .. period!!  I hope that next year everyone considers attending. I've never been to an event like it.  The first part of the night was dinner and a silent "brush of fame" art auction ... look at the local piece I bid on and won!!  It's made of different fabrics and textures .. I LOVE it!!

The second half of the night was the big "Battle Of The Big Bands". Everyone filled that dance floor and it was amazing!! A lot of folks,  young to old, took the floor dancing the night away. Some just for fun .. others actually competed!   One of the instructors even pulled me out on the floor a couple of times so now I'm considering taking up dance lessons .. anyone wanna join me??  I'm hoping someone sends me pictures ... if they do I will post them!

Other than that .. not much new in my life.  I went to my very first UT Basketball game!! Yup, that is correct, I said FIRST. Isn't that a sin that I've lived here my ENTIRE life and never been to a UT basketball game!!!  I've been to PLENTY of football games but never made it to a basketball game until this weekend for the UT-UK game.  A BIG thank you to my friend Bill who gave me two tickets.  I took one of my dearest friends Natalie.  If you watch our 4:00 newscast then you see her name at the end of the show .. she is the producer!  She is also a KENTUCKY fan .. so that was fun!  However she just cheered for both teams!
Lets see .. what else ...  I enjoyed Mondays 70 degree temps. I dropped the top on my car and drove to Campbell County to have an excuse to just drive somewhere!! I got to see my beautiful niece, my mom and my sister .. so it was a nice day.  That is until midnight when I woke up sick and realized I'd been "glutented".  For those of you that don't know what gluten is, to me it's the devil, haha, because I have an auto-immune disorder called Celiac Disease and gluten makes me very sick.  Maybe I'll write about it again one day but in the meantime you can go to the 2-parter we did last year and find out ANYTHING you need to know.  Usually I can work with the symptoms, but for some reason they were really extreme and I had to call in sick. The bad thing about Celiac is that there are no medications .. you just have to deal with it. So I knocked myself out and slept all day so I wouldn't have to be in pain.

That is about it for me . I'm sorry I don't have anything good to write about .. maybe I will in the coming days.  I do still need to do descriptions of everyone behind the scenes .. I'll bring my camera to work and get that done this week!

Keep Smiling :)
Stacy

Don't feel bad about not blogging as much lately. We all know you are a busy lady. Just be sure to post a picture of Natalie eventually, so we can see how good looking she is. LOL.
