Hey Friends: An old high school friend of mine posted this as a bulletin on a blog and I'm sure glad I read it. I am gonna throw an insight or two in between each. It's my hope for you as you go about your day to at least use a couple of these 40 little tid bits and that they will be something you can live by. Maybe you can make it a goal to at least do one a day ...
Tips for an Exceptional, Superb, Powerful Life! 1.) Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is the ultimate antidepressant. (* okay I had planned on staring to hit the gym this week, MAYBE, Anyone wanna work out together? I'm looking for a few potential motivators *) 2.) Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Buy a lock if you have to. (* I already do this ... oftentimes more than 10 minutes .. it's a life saver ... promise*) 3.) Buy a Tivo (DVR), tape your late night shows and get more sleep. (* i haven't watched TV in a long time. hopefully my shows will be back on soon*) 4.) When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement, 'My purpose is to________ today.' (* I'm starting this tomorrow and plan to tape this to my bathroom mirror*) 5.) Live with the 3 E's -- Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy. (* well i dont have much energy since I never sleep. But I thrive on enthusiasm and oftentimes have too much empathy. I'm such a good person, haha.*) 6.) Watch more movies, play more games and read more books than you did last year. (*already reading more books, currently I'm reading The Class Castle., and I watch more movies than TV. I am thinking of taking up a new hobby, had planned on ball room dancing, but I may consider buying Guitar Hero or getting in on the addiction *) 7.) Always pray. Always put God 1st (* without God in my life I know I would fail. He is my strength*) 8.) Spend more time with people over the age of 70 and under the age of Six. (* amen. no one cheers me up like by bella*) 9.) Dream more while you are awake. (* daydreaming and being imaginative are things I'm really good at. I think it's good for the soul as long as you understand many dreams end up just that ... dreams*) 10.) Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less foods that are manufactured in plants. (* since celiac i've done this .. I feel so much better*) 11.) Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat blueberries, wild Alaskan salmon, broccoli, almonds &walnuts. (*I dont eat enough blueberries, but I really enjoy broccoli and almonds. I eat them every week. I make a mix of green tea and regular tea in my tea maker and it's yummy*) 12.) Try to make at least three people smile each day. (* watch ETTM and I guarantee you will smile *) 13.) Clear your clutter from your house, your car, your desk and let new and flowing energy into your life. (* i hate clutter. but it happens. actually it's my goal to worry about it less since I can be a little obsessive compulsive*) 14.) Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead, invest your energy in the positive present moment. (* my favorite statement to try and live by is as follows. Repeat it OFTEN .... "God, grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, and the Wisdom to know the difference" *) 15.) Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class.......but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime. (* in situations you always wonder what you are suppose to take from it. in life i try to live with no real regrets. I just make sure I live and learn and move on. much easier said than done, huh*) 16.) Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out charge card. (* haha, so true, but NOT what I do at all*) 17.) Smile and laugh more. It will keep the energy vampires a way. (* energy vampires, haha, that makes me smilie and laugh*) 18.) Life isn't fair, but it's still good. (* boy is this true. it's as good as you make it. no one else can "make you" happy*) 19.) Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. (* hate does nothing but destroy not the person you feel it toward, but yourself*) 20.) Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does. (* yup .. but sometimes it's nice to be grown up too ..*) 21.) You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree. (* did i tell you i once thought about being a lawyer, haha*) 22.) Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present. (* letting go ... boy is that a tough thing to do sometimes .. but when you do there is NO feeling like it *) 23.) Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about. (* Never look at someone and think they have a perfect life .. you just never know .. there is always someone around you fighting a tougher battle*) 24.) Ladies - Go on and burn those 'special' scented candles, use the 600 thread count sheets, the good china and wear our fancy lingerie now. Stop waiting for a special occasion. Everyday is special. (*amen girls, love yourself!!!!!!*) 25.) No one is in charge of your happiness except you. (* boy is this true but some people sure try to make rain on your parade*) 26.) Frame every so-called disaster with these words: 'In five years, will this matter?' (* hmmm, i enjoy living for the day, but i' think i'll use this today*) 27.) Forgive everyone for everything. (*forgiving is easy. forgetting is the hard part*) 28.) What other people think of you is none of your business. (* I've had to learn that most people really just dont care .. you only think they care. We live in a "me, me, me" world and your never going to be the topic of discussion for long. Who cares .. it's your life .. live it *) 29.) Time heals almost everything. Give time, time! (* Almost. I still hurt when I think about the death of people that made my world a happier place. It's okay not to forget, it's healthy, but time does heal, too bad I don't own a time machine .. that would be great *) 30.) However good or bad a situation is, it will change. (* i hate this statement ... i would love to think good lasts forever, ha. i guess it can if you are filled with the right kind of good *) 31.) Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch with them. (* So true, but watch yourself. It's much better to have a few good friends than alot of fake ones*) 32.) Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful. (* joyful .. i love that word *) 33.) Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need. God provides remember?! (* not only is it a time waster it hardens your heart*) 34.) The best is yet to come. (* oh how I hope that is true!!*) 35.) No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up. (* well ... i dont know ... i love lazy days cause I dont get them often enough .. haha *) 36.) Do the right thing! (* somethings you KNOW are doing right .. it's the stuff you aren't sure about that make this one tough sometimes. I hate the battle that goes on between your heart and brain*) 37.) Call someone you love and/or is happy to hear from you often. (* in a texting/emailing world it is easy to forget we have phones .. kind of like writing letters .. I love getting a card or letter*) 38.) Each night before you go to bed complete the following statements: "I am thankful for __________." "Today I accomplished _________." (* plan to put this on my nightstand tonight*) 39.) Remember that you are too blessed to be stressed. (*stress is such a waste of time. what can you do about it really*) 40.) Enjoy the ride. Remember that this is not Disney World and you certainly don't want a fast pass. You only have one ride through life so make the most of it and enjoy the ride. (* life is short people. if you find something that makes your heart smile hold onto it, if it doesn't let it go. If you lay down at night and your mind is mostly full of regrets then you gotta make a change. If you aren't happy make changes so that you are*) |

Question/Comment Stacy As I sit here (as most every morning)for ETTM,this is your last day.Thank the Lord that you are only going to a PM segment. When you can post on your blog, what are your feelings (pro/con/postive/neg on making this transition. Sooo many of us morning viewers will just have to follow you to the pm segment so we can still experience that warm smile and sensitive insight that you always provide. The took perfectually healthy (24 yr olds) deprived them of sleep only allowed 4 hrs nightly for 6 days ant they were begining to become border line diabetics. Yep that soon so GET SLEEP Stacy!
