BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- One man was pulled from a burning Blount County home and taken to Blount Memorial Hospital Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters say the man made it out of the house, but then went back inside for an unknown reason. Firefighters then had to rescue him.

He suffered from smoke inhalation, but was alert at the scene.

The fire broke out Wednesday afternoon in the 4700 block of Old Niles Ferry Road just southwest of Maryville.
