Blount Co. man charged with growing marijuana
Blount County Sheriff's Deputies, Maryville Police and Alcoa Police, along with members of the Loudon County Sheriff's Department arrested a Maryville man for allegedly running an indoor marijuana growing operation, according to a BCSO news release.

MARYVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Blount County Sheriff's Deputies, Maryville Police and Alcoa Police, along with members of the Loudon County Sheriff's Department arrested a Maryville man for allegedly running an indoor marijuana growing operation, according to a BCSO news release.

Michael Eugene Smith, 38, of Maryville, was arrested at his Lodwick Road home, deputies say.

Officers seized 21 marijuana plants that were part of the "hydroponic" grow operation.

Smith is charged with manufacturing marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
