BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT)- Investigators are trying to figure out why a man was shot in the stomach during a hunting trip on Saturday.

Officers with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency say the shooting happened sometime in the afternoon in the Calderwood Reservoir.

That's just a little bit south of the Smoky Mountains National Park.

For some reason another hunter shot the victim, who was flown to U.T. Medical Center.

The man, whose name has not been released yet, is in serious condition.

There's no word on if anyone will face charges.
