KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Salvation Army is responding to the flooding in Eastern Kentucky.

Captains Adrian and Karen Twinney will help with six counties in the southeastern part of the state, based out of Middlesboro. Their office on N. 18th Street suffered extensive damage from Monday's flooding. Adrian Twinney has been working with officials to assess damages and help with the Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services response.

Drawing from resources in both Kentucky and Knoxville (TN), a mobile feeding kitchen (canteen) has been mobilized from Knoxville to respond to those in need. Three other units are on stadby.

To make a donation in support of those impacted by the flooding, call 1-800-SAL-ARMY (1-800-725-2769) or visit www.disaster.SalvationArmyUSA.org. You can also help by texting “SAnow” 80888 to make a $10.00
contribution to the relief effort. The donation will appear on your next phone bill.
