KNOXVILLE (WVLT) – There were no failing restaurants, but two did record low scores from the Knox County Health Department, in our look Behind the Kitchen Door.
The first was Pee Wee's Diner at 5702 Old Rutledge Pike which scored a 70.
Inspectors found hamburger meat at potentially hazardous temperature, bulk food containers that were not food grade or labeled and dirty equipment and floors.

The second low score was the Gondolier at 138 West End Avenue which scored a 70.
While there, inspectors found toxic chemicals not labeled, no sanitizer in the dish washing machine, mold in the ice machine, a filthy food slicer, and dirty equipment and floors.

Now for the good news, there were 24 restaurants that scored a 90 or above this week.
