Two restaurants failed their inspection this week from the Knox County Health Department, in our look behind the kitchen door.

Szechuan Garden, 4211 Chapman Highway, score: 55
There was cooked beef and raw chicken at potentially hazardous temperature, the cook washed hands in the dish sink and dried them on their apron. Toxic chemicals were not labeled or stored properly. There was no hand sink in the food prep area, and the equipment dirty and rusted.

Sakkio Japan, 7600 Kingston Pike, score: 62
Inspectors found cockroaches in the rice (20 pounds thrown out). Sugar contaminated with chicken blood (50 pounds thrown out). Rice on the steam table at potentially hazardous temperature (5 pounds thrown out). There was no hot water at the hand sink, the equipment was dirty, and the sugar and salt were not labeled.

Now for the good news. We have 14 restaurants that scored 90 and above this week.

Steamboat, 2423 Central Avenue, score: 90

Tammy and Mike's Fried Green Tomatoes, 4125 Alma Avenue and Chintzy Rose Tea Room, 6000 Maynardville Highway, both scored 92.

A Lady and Lord Round Table, 5129 Webber Road; Firehouse Subs, 5222 N. Broadway; Temptation Station, 201 Redbud Drive; Kalamata Sushi Bar, 9405 Northshore; and Quizno's, 10649 Hardin Valley, all scored 93.

Hot Dogs on Wheels, 2421 Martin Luther King and Entree'vous, 9420 Northshore both scored 94.

Baskin Robbins Ice Cream, 5228 Broadway and
Comfort Inn, 7585 Barrett Way, Powell, both scored 96.

Swizzles, 304 Cedar Bluff, score:97

Countryside B-B-Q and Catering, 9670 Countryside
scored a perfect 100.
