KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- We have two restaurants that failed their inspections from the Knox County Health Department this week in our look behind the kitchen door.
Silver Spoon, 7420 Kingston Pike, score: 67
Meat sandwiches, sausage, and homemade alfredo sauce were stored at potentially hazardous temperature. Two employees wiped their hands on their aprons and continued preparing food. Another employee loaded dirty dishes and unloaded clean dishes without washing their hands. The dish machine water was not hot enough to sanitize, the line basin was blocked with garbage, and equipment and floors were dirty.
Shoney's, 8529 Walker Springs, score: 69
“All American” burger patties stored at potentially hazardous temperatures. An employee prepping food wiped their hands on their clothing and continued prepping food without washing their hands. A triple sink was leaking dirty water onto floor, and the equipment and shelves were dirty.
Now for the good news, we have five restaurants that scored 90 or above this week.
Bonefish Grill, 6610 Kingston Pike, scored 91.
Domino's Pizza, 900 Broadway, scored 92.
McDonald's, 6715 Clinton Highway, scored 94.
Auntie Anne's, Knoxville Center, scored 96.
Papa's Pizza to Go, 7507 Tazewell Pike, scored 97.
