ATLANTA (AP) - Delta Air Lines is raising fees for passengers traveling with pets and people booking their tickets over the phone.
The nation's third-largest airline also is introducing a new $25 "handling charge" for frequent fliers who book a free flight through a Delta representative that includes a segment on another airline.
Delta operates its second-largest hub at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.
An airline spokeswoman says the fee changes are mainly a response to high fuel prices.
Starting today, carrying a pet in a Delta cabin costs $100 instead of $75.
Booking a ticket by phone has gone up $5, to $25.
