MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- An acknowledged cocaine dealer who testified that he was shot by a Memphis man charged with being a contract killer for a drug trafficking ring says he lied under oath in a previous court proceeding.

Billy Ray Myles testified in federal court Thursday that he lied during a preliminary hearing in 2005, saying at the time that he did not know who shot him.

The admission came during questioning by the attorney for Clinton Lewis, who is on trial on charges he dealt drugs and committed a murder for Craig Petties' drug organization.

During questioning by prosecutors Wednesday, Myles testified that Lewis shot him in the leg after Myles stole drugs from the organization.

Lewis and cousin Martin Lewis have pleaded not guilty to committing murder for the organization.
