Teen finds dead man behind East Knoxville home
A 14-year-old boy on his way home from school found a dead man near his East Knoxville home.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn.(WVLT)-- A 14-year-old boy found a dead man near an alley behind his East Knoxville home.
The teen's parents told Local 8 News their son was walking home from the bus stop when he came across the body Wednesday afternoon.
It happened just after 4 pm on the 3400 hundred block of Ashland Avenue.
"It could have been anybody's son," said Nicole Cook whose mother lives in the area. "My heart goes out to his family."
Police have identified the victim as Jevon Montrel Sturdivant, 18, from Chattanooga. Officers say he was shot.
The body was taken to UT Medical for an autopsy. Knoxville Police are investigating.
