KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- One man faces a Voluntary Manslaughter charge stemming from the stabbing death of his brother in a discount store parking lot late last month.
Jason Kitts was released from UT Medical Center and taken to the Knox Co. Detention Facility where he is being held on $25,000 bond, according to a Knoxville Police Department spokesperson.
Investigators believe Kitts was arguing with his brother Travis while the pair were sitting in a car parked outside of a Dollar Tree store on Chapman Highway around 5:30 p.m. on January 29, 2012. The fight continued after the brothers got out of the car when, police say, they stabbed each other.
The wife of one of the brothers drove the men to U.T. Medical Center where Travis died.
The Knoxville Police Department suspects alcohol may have been involved.
