NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Metropolitan Nashville police say they have arrested a suspect in an alleged rape at the Vanderbilt University campus as well as three other attacks against women in the city.
The Tennessean reports that 25-year-old Tyrone Batts has been charged with two counts of rape, attempted rape and robbery in connection with an alleged rape Friday inside a campus parking garage.
Police say Batts is also a suspect in attacks against three female hospital employees outside of Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Baptist Hospital and Centennial Medical Center. Police say the suspect was spotted by security at Centennial and apprehended at around 8:30 a.m. Sunday.
At the time of his arrest, Batts had been free on $50,000 bond on charges of aggravated robbery and being a felon in possession of a weapon.
