More than a dozen Mr. Football finalists, including eventual winners Bo Wallace of Giles County, Josh Carroll of Adamsville and Nick Pollard of Father Ryan, are among the 88 players scheduled to play in the third annual Toyota East vs. West Tennessee All-Star Classic next Saturday, December 12.

Wallace, an outstanding quarterback prospect, led his Giles County Bobcats to their first ever appearance in a state championship game. Carroll, an outstanding linebacker for Adamsville, helped his team reach the quarterfinals, the farthest an Adamsville football team has ever advanced. Pollard is an outstanding kicker for Father Ryan’s Fighting Irish. The Nashville club was eliminated by defending state champion Memphis University School in the Division II-AA semifinals.

Other players picked to play in the game who were Mr. Football finalists include West players Doug Page of Franklin Road Academy, Bryson Crowder of Liberty Tech, Derek Vaughn of Davidson Academy and Kevin Ashabraner of Jo Byrns. East squad members who earned Mr. Football finalist honors include Jaron Toney and Tyler Robinson of Alcoa, Darian Stone of Clinton, Chris Mayes of Riverdale and Jiajuan Fennell of South Pittsburg.

The 2009 Toyota East vs. West Tennessee All Star Classic is scheduled for a noon Eastern kickoff at Burke-Tarr Stadium on the campus of Carson-Newman College.
