'Soul Man' Sam Moore tells Obama to stop using his song
Hold On, Stop using my song. That's the message to Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama from soul singer Sam Moore of Sam & Dave fame.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Hold On -- Stop using my song.
That's the message to Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama from soul singer Sam Moore of Sam & Dave fame.
The singer said Saturday that he's sent a letter to the Obama campaign asking them to stop using one of the duo's signature songs, "Hold On, I'm Comin'," at campaign rallies.
Moore says he's not endorsing Obama or anybody else at this time for president.
Obama spokesman Tommy Vietor said in a brief e-mail Saturday that the campaign received the letter and will stop using the song.

Oh My God!!!...I just love Sam Moore. He is just so wonderful. Years ago, Sam took me an my girlfriend in his Cadillac all across Tenn. to meet his friend Kutchie at Kutcharitaville in North Carolina. Sam told us how his friend Kutchie helps keep his music alive by playing it all the time at his cafe. Sammy said that for a white bread that his friend Kutchie has as much or more soul than any of the brothers do except for Issac Hayes, Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Levi Stubbs, Sammy Davis Jr., Louis Armstrong, James Brown, Jerry Butler, Sam Cooke just to name a few. But the soul food that the boy cooks, Sam says is "second to none in his book". Sam says that his buddie Kutchie, for a cracker, you have to get a good look at him just to make sure that he is white. Sam says that the only other white boys that have that much soul are Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi and not many others. Oh what a trip that was. Yeah, Obama, just being black, doesn't really make you "A Soul Man"....Loretta

Any individual in this day and age or any age that has an appreciation for good soul, rymthm and blue music would know and have respect for Sam Moore. Obama's stature remains to be seen...
