WACO, Texas (AP) -- Country singer Pat Green has canceled his New Year's Eve concert in Waco after undergoing emergency surgery for appendicitis.

Green was in good condition today after Wednesday's surgery.

Austin Universal Entertainment president Greg Henry tells the Waco Tribune-Herald that doctors advised Green to cancel the show as well as several days of planned studio work in Nashville.

Green grew up in Waco and lives in Fort Worth.

His most recent album, "Cannonball," came out in August 2006.

Green's publicist couldn't be reached for comment tonight.
