Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have a kitchen that was designed just for you?

Work with a professional cabinet company like Guffey Cabinetry and they will help you with a Kitchen design that is custom tailored to your needs.

The Guffey family has been in the cabinet business for about three decades and have remodeled hundred of kitchens in that time.

Basic tips for kitchen design:

1. Make sure the sink is not to far away from the refrigerator.

2. The oven or ovens needs to be no more than a few steps away from the sink and refrigerator. One design that has been used
for many years is the triangle design.

Next to size, the shape of your kitchen space can be your biggest design headache. There are three main types of kitchen shapes.
1. U shape

2. L shape

3. G shape

Kenny Guffey says most kitchens are installed without any or at east very little fore thought applied to the process.

"But when you work with a builder who has a professional cabinet company like Guffey Cabinetry, we help you with a design that works for you and your family", said Kenny.

Your kitchen is where you nurture your loved ones' souls as well as their bodies.

So you want it to be as efficient, comfortable, and just plain beautiful as possible! But where do you start?

The best kitchen is a functional kitchen.

Make sure yours fits how you really live.

If you and your spouse love to cook and entertain, don't settle for one oven, one sink, and no place to sit.

If "Martha Stewart doesn't live here" is your motto, don't bother with two ovens and a six-burner restaurant stove.

If your kids are at the do-it-yourself age, go for a roomy, top-of-the-line microwave installed near the fridge.

If you come home from work late but still like to cook seriously, you may want to have a microwave installed near the stove for quick defrosting before cooking.

First access your needs:

1. How many people live in your home?

2. Is the room size big enough to accommodate enough cabinets?

3. How many meals are prepared in your kitchen each day, if it's like my home, not very many.

4. Who does most of the meal planning and preparation of the meals, the husband the wife or both? If it is both then the kitchen needs to be
bigger.

Your budget plays a big role in what you can do, so be realistic.

1. Make a list of your wants and needs of the new kitchen and be realistic with those.
It is so easy for the costs to spiral out of control.

2. If you spend more money than planed for and makes a hardship on your finances then the process may not be so exciting for you.

A kitchen island can be a cheap and attractive way to expand your counter space.

An island can also help you add a second sink, dishwasher, or oven to your kitchen.

Last but not least, the cabinets can really play a huge role in the look of your kitchen.

Choose a style of cabinet that fits the overall architectural style of your home.

For instance, a contemporary style of cabinets does not look right with a traditional home and visa a versa.

Remember there is always a style of cabinet that will work for you and if it is not exactly what you want we will design and build it!

The kitchen is such a focal point in any home, so you deserve to have it like you want!

"If your home is like mine, any family function or gathering may start out in the backyard, den, or living room, but somehow always ends up in the kitchen. The kitchen is one of the most popular rooms in the house, it is where late- night talks, home work sessions and casual celebrations take place.
