And thanks to pilot oil, all 320 racks of ribs cost us nothing! Just the ticket sales alone will raise over $8,000
for Habitat for Humanity!
So, you add the $7,000 in program guide ad sales, that's over $15,000 to build someone a new home!
Anita Russell was the first Ribfest 4 Homes home recipient.
She encourages people to attend the event and says it made such a difference for her family.
Ribfest 4 Homes and the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection raised the funds to sponsor her family last year!
"It was the most awesome, life changing, and rewarding experience of my life. My church, First Baptist of Lenoir City, provided some of the manpower, but all the fundraising came from Ribfest and the Episcopal church. My family and I worked side by side, raising walls, building friendships, and a house soon stood! The partnership between Ribfest and Habitat for Humanity was awesome. I just want to help another deserving family turn a house into a safe, warm, loving home! I can't say enough great things about his great, loving event!" said Anita.
Ribfest 4 Homes is also a competition and it's not too late to enter!
For $100 entry fee, you will be given, 21 racks of ribs to smoke, 20 will be sold to the public and
1 will go to the judges for a chance @ $1,200 in prize money!
In addition, Wampler's Farm Sausage is donating sausage & prize money for a sausage cooking competition!
There are lots of ways for area pork smokers to win, contribute, and have fun!
