KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Have you ever wanted to see a rhino up close? Or stand next to a giraffe? Well, at the Knoxville Zoo you can as part of their "Animal Encounters" program. Animal keepers take you behind-the-scenes to get real close to rhinos, penguins, giraffes, tortoises and elephants. You'll get to see a special presentation from animal keepers, a chance to feed and touch the animals and get a picture with the animal.
Tickets are $20 per person and they ask you to call ahead because space is limited and groups fill up quickly.
Money from the Animal Encounters program supports the Zoo's animal collection with a portion of the funds supporting conservation projects in the countries of the animals featured.
