KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The UT Ice Vols will lace up their skates to support Breast Cancer Awareness this Friday for their game against South Carolina.
Several members of the hockey team have been affected personally by the disease. A goalie's mother and a defenseman's grandmother both beat breast cancer.
The game will take place at the Knoxville Coliseum in downtown Knoxville and will have a special, early start time of 8:30 p.m.
The first 100 fans to enter the arena will receive a free pink Tennessee hockey tee shirt. More pink shirts will be on sale at the game.
General admission tickets are $5 and UT students will get in for $1 with a student ID.
The game will raise money for the Susan G. Komen for the cure Foundation.
If you would like to help with the event or would like to make a donation and/or be a special partner in the game, contact the Club President, Rob Goldsmith, at: rgoldsm1@utk.edu.
