(WVLT) - Last year, an East Tennessee singer released a CD to benefit the Michael J. Fox Foundation and now that foundation has honored her for her efforts.

Madison Lyleroehr and her mother, Linda, snapped a picture with actor and activist Michael J. Fox as Madison received an award dinner in New York honoring people who helped collectively raised of $1 million in funding for research.

Madison's album, Heavenly Peace, came out last year, and all the proceeds go towards the Michael J. Fox Foundation.

Madison's grandmother died last year of Parkinson's and her mother has also been diagnosed with the disease.
