CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) -- BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee will offer an online report on doctors starting in mid-September.

BlueCross spokesman Scott Wilson said the report on medical care quality and cost will be available to the almost 3 million members of the state's largest health insurer.

Some other health insurers already provide such reporting.

A previously set April startup for BlueCross members was delayed to allow additional discussions with doctors.

Tennessee Medical Association spokesman Russ Miller said the reporting standards need to be flexible partly because patient care is "not as black and white as computers want to make things."

Wilson said the report will contain information on about 4,000 physicians. An exact starting day has not been announced.
