KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- The greens are pretty green at Gettsyvue Country Club, no thanks to Mother Nature.
Jeff Dudych the golf course superintendent says, "It's (the high temperatures) caused us to a be little more picky on where we're putting water and how we're putting it out."
They're leaning less on sprinklers and more on manpower.
Dudych says, "Instead of running our irrigation cycle like normal, we're doing more hand watering and watering certain areas."
And surprisingly, play isn't down, the players are just adapting.
Louise Ball, LPGA Teaching Pro says golfers will move their tee times. She says "Usually early morning late in the evening, they try to avoid the middle part of the day."
Ice cream shops like the Marble Slab on Market Square actually welcome the heat.
Manager Jonathan Novack says, "Lucky for us, the hotter it gets the better our business is. People go outside and it's hot and they need something to cool them down, something to enjoy."
But then again- who needs 90 degree temperatures to enjoy ice cream!!!.
