Get Fit campaign offers tips for kids
The Tennessee Department of Health has added fitness and nutrition information on its website to encourage young people to get fit.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The Tennessee Department of Health has added fitness and nutrition information on its website to encourage young people to get fit.
The Get Fit Tennessee website provides interactive games and trivia to help kids learn about nutrition, proper portion sizes and ways to stay active during the day.
The site also includes a section for teachers who want to incorporate fitness and nutrition information into classroom activities, such as lesson plans and online forums.
Get Fit Tennessee is a statewide initiative to address the rising rate of Type 2 diabetes and risk factors that lead to diabetes.
