Knoxville (WVLT) -- A former Knoxville high school coach and teacher has pleaded guilty to statutory rape.

Dianne Dieterich was the head Cross Country and Track and Field Coach at Knoxville Catholic High School prior to being dismissed this summer after allegations that she was having an inappropriate relationship with a male student.

She was given a four year prison sentence, but she immediately applied for judicial diversion, a program that grants probation with the possibility of dismissal or expungement.

As part of the deal, she must regularly attend marriage and sexual counseling.

According to her bio on the school's website, Dieterich began teaching at Catholic in 1999.

The Northwestern State University grad taught accounting, keyboarding, personal finance, business computing and was the chair of the school's business technology department.
