KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) – A Knox County teenager was rushed to the hospital Thursday night after he was shot outside a West Knoxville condo complex.
It happened just after 9:00 p.m. at Fox Lake Condos on Fox Crossing.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office says the victim was in a car with three others when they encountered a man they all knew. As they slowly drove by him in the parking lot of the complex, the man shot at them.
The shot entered the car and struck the victim in his back. He was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Witnesses last saw the suspect get into a gray Buick LeSabre driven by a white man, which drove away from the scene.
The suspect is described as a short black man in his late teens or early 20s with braided hair. He was wearing a white tank top and baggy jean shorts at the time of the shooting.
Few other details about the shooting have been released, though investigators believe it was likely drug related.
If you have any information about the case, call the Knox County Sheriff’s Office at (865) 215-2243.

Shootings,Shootings,Shootings - I see way too much in the news every day. OK, what does a law abiding citizen do? Now and until I see evidence of change I will lock my doors and will not leave the house unarmed. This is not the way I want to live in America. Much of the Shooting is drug related - maybe 90%. Knoxville happens to be at the pivot point of Drug traffic from Mexico via I40 East/West and I75 N/S. We must close the borders! I was at a Town Meeting in Fountain City where Congressman Jimmy Ducan was a guest. I listened for while with everybody making it a LOVE FEST - I lost my cool and shouted - in anger - and to make a point - I am sick and tired of the Politicians in Washington doing nothing to stop illegal immigration. Maybe we should close I40 - Enter by Invitation only!
