Unicoi County (WVLT) -- Wildlife officers say an East Tennessee man accidentally shot himself while hunting.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency says a 40 year-old Kingsport man was bear hunting in the Limestone Cove section of the Cherokee Wildlife Management Area at about 11:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

They say he had lost his direction and was walking through a dense area when his 45-caliber pistol discharged in the holster, hitting him in the leg.

Paramedics took the man, whose name is not being released, to the Johnson City Medical Center where he's expected to fully recover.
