KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) If you're headed into Jefferson County on 11E be prepared for a slowdown.
There's a big hole in the road on 11E near the Food City in Jefferson City.
Tennessee Department of Transportation spokesperson Travis Brickey says, judging by the depth of the hole, this could have one day become a big sinkhole.
But, Brickey says, TDOT got to it first.
A recent road inspection found a depression here.
That's a telltale sign of a future sinkhole, according to Brickey.
TDOT crews will fill the hole and repave the road.
It should reopen by rush hour.
