KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) The FBI has arrested a North Knoxville man in connection with a bank robbery Wednesday off Merchants Drive, according to KPD spokesperson Darrell DeBusk.

Marcus Jeremy Harrell, 31, of Debonair Drive, was taken into custody without incident around 1:45 p.m.

He will be charged with aggravated bank robbery, a state charge, rather than a federal charge.

Witnesses at the SunTrust Bank on Merchants Drive described yesterday's robber as weighing about 300 pounds.

KPD spokesperson Darrell DeBusk says the suspect handed a teller a note around 10:30 a.m. and demanded money. DeBusk says the suspect had a reddish beard, wore a gray hooded sweatshirt, and blue jeans.
