KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) - A starting University of Tennessee lineman has been arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

Knoxville Police Department spokesperson Lt. Bob Wooldridge confirms Anthony Parker, 21, was arrested in the parking lot of the Sutters Mill Apartment complex just after midnight Saturday morning.

DeBusk says about 12:30 a.m., Officer Sam Henard saw Parker standing in the parking lot of the complex on Sutters Mill Lane in West Knoxville, waving his hands and yelling.

Officer Henard then arrested Parker on disorderly conduct charges and took him to the detention center where he posted a $500 bond and was released.

Parker, a junior at UT, started at left guard for the Vols in all 13 games of the 2007 season.

He had thought about entering the NFL Draft, but decided to return for his senior season next year.

There has not been any word from UT or the athletics department about any possible punishment for Parker.

There is more to this story that we aren't being told by the KPD or UT representatives. How many people have you ever seen arrested for disorderly contact for standing somewhere and waving their arms and yelling. I know it was late (or early), but being loud late at night is hardly an arrestable offense. Did he disregard a warning to become quiet or to conduct himself in an orderly fashion. (the opposite of disorderly conduct I suppose?) But then again UT recruits players on athletic ability 1st, academic 2nd, and then character is a close 5th or 6th. Do we want championships or choirboys anyway?
