MAYFIELD, Ky. (AP) -- A judge in western Kentucky says three members of the state's Amish community are guilty of failing to put flashing lights or reflective orange triangles on their horse-drawn buggies.

Kentucky statutes have required symbols on slow-moving vehicles since 1971. The requirements for lights and flashers were added in 2005.

Jacob Gingerich is one of the men found guilty. He said during a trial last month that the symbols conflicted with religious beliefs that prohibit possessions that are too worldly.

Graves County District Judge Deborah Crooks fined each of the men $20 plus court costs.

No what people need to do is respect their relegion and leave them alone. They arent hurting anyone. Let them live free, isn't that what the USA is suppose to be, a free country?? If you don't know the amish then don't dog them. They are kind, God fearing people who wouldn't hurt anyone.
