KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- A man charged with running over and killing a South Knoxville bride-to-be has been indicted by a Knox County Grand Jury on a more serious First Degree Murder charge.

Brian Erickson, 29, was charged with Second Degree Murder the day after the crash in October of 2007.

Witnesses told police they observed Erickson strike Carol Yates, 42, with his car on Mayfield Avenue, drag her down the road with his car, then back up over her, then run over again as he fled the scene.

Erickson had arranged to meet Yates at her home.

Erickson was indicted Tuesday. A date for his next hearing has not yet been set.
