KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- The Dogwood Arts Festival Parade scheduled for Friday in downtown Knoxville has been canceled, according to Ken Knight, the President of the Dogwood Arts Festival.
Knight says the parade is being canceled out of an abundance of precaution for the safety of the people participating, and the onlookers.
Knight says the National Weather Service told him there is a good possibility that strong storms and hail could be in the area between 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
He says the committee doesn't want to take any chances of anyone getting hurt.
The parade has been rescheduled for Friday, April 25th, from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m.
