Gary Christian speaks out for first time since Boyd trial began
"Do you not think that if they would've put a gun in her hand, one of two things would've happened: She'd still be here to talk to us, or she'd have took one of them with her."

KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- "Do you not think that if they would've put a gun in her hand, one of two things would've happened: She'd still be here to talk to us, or she'd have took one of them with her."

Channon Christian's father isn't staying quiet anymore.

For the first time since the case against Eric Boyd began, Gary Christian talked to Volunteer TV News Court Reporter Rob Pratt.

Christian told Pratt someone reminded him over the weekend that Channon doesn't have a voice anymore, and he needed to be her voice.

Gary Christian's statement this morning was in reponse to what Lemaricus Davidson's girlfriend said in court testimony Friday. Daphne Sutton testified that she was told that Channon was forced to shoot and kill her boyfriend, Christopher Newsom.

Christian says that's ludicrous. He says Channon had been trained about guns, and knew how to use one.

He says he was really irked that the media chose to report that detail as the main focus of some coverage on Friday.

Testimony in the second week of the trial against Boyd is continuing at this hour. Boyd is not charged in the murders or the carjacking, but he is charged with being an accessory. Prosecutors are trying to prove that he knew about the crimes, but still helped one of the suspects, Davidson escape, and did nothing to help police.

Gary, I don't know if you will read this but, I hope you will. I hope someday we can meet in person. I lived in Knoxville many years before moving away. I was away for 20 years and then returned 21/2 years ago. I really didn't know what happened until recently when the trials began. Now, I know too much. I am so sick that I could vomit because I feel so helpless. I continue to cry when I think about the suffering and the horror that these children endured. It is beyond what is humanly comprehensible. I too, have a daughter, Gary, and I cannot imagine how I would live if anything happened to her. Nevertheless, this horrid fate. My heart tears for you and your wife and yet there is no justice served, nor am I able to help in any way. I want to do something powerful!!!I feel the entire community should be raising rightous hell in the streets of Knoxville. I want to force them to lethally inject these satanically possessed dogs. Gary, I want to help you somehow. Tell me how I can help!!!!

Garry,There is nothing I can say or do to take any of the pain and sorrow from you. I just pray that GOD gives you and your Wife the Strength and Wisdom to get through this tragic time. GOD BLESS!

Every time I see the pictures of those sick individuals on the television who did this it turns my stomach. I cannot even begin to understand the pain that you are feeling right now. Even though I dont know you personally I pray that God will give you the strength that you need to continue your lives.
