NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A proposal that would require adult-oriented entertainers be at least 21 years old has likely failed for the session.
The measure sponsored by Knoxville Republican Tim Burchett was placed in general sub in the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday, meaning it could be called up at anytime.
The companion bill in the House has been referred to a summer study committee.
The legislation would raise the current minimum age from 18. It would also require the person to provide proof of age to the local permitting official.
