HAMBLEN COUNTY (WVLT) A man has drowned in a Hamblen Co. boat dock while fishing with friends.

Officials got the call Thursday night that a man was in the water at Cedar Hills Boat Dock in West Hamblen County.

The man's friends reported to police that 18 year old Brian Carroll had been fishing with them on the dock, when he stood up to cast with a fishing rod.

The rod started to shake and Carroll fell in the water.

Rescue crews later found him in 35 feet of water.

Right now, there's no report of foul play or drinking.

There's no word on if Carroll could swim or not.
