Knox County (WVLT) - The Knox County Commission is formally censuring County Mayor Mike Ragsdale after an audit review of questionable purchasing card spending.
According to the News Sentinel, the board voted 13 to 4 on Monday, demanding repayment of nearly $40,000 of unaccounted for charges by Mayor Ragsdale and his aides.
The decision was made after a hearing focused on two audits. One on P-Cards and the other on car allowances.
Mayor Ragsdale and his officials have the chance to present documentation for the P-Card charges by this Friday to avoid a possible lawsuit.
The commission also voted to stop further investigation into the auto allowances.
