SEYMOUR, Tenn. (AP) -- Three Seymour teenagers are accused of hot wiring golf carts and taking them for a joyride that ended with about $14,000 worth of damage.
According to a Blount County Sheriff's report, an employee of the Bays Mountain Golf Course contacted deputies Sunday morning after discovering six carts missing.
Three of the carts were found near the course's 18th hole, one was found in the creek near hole 12 and two were found near hole 5. They were extensively damaged.
Eighteen-year-old Matthew Scott Grant was charged with burglary and vandalism; 18-year-old James Michael Presley was charged with burglary; and a 17-year-old, who officers are not identifying, was served a juvenile petition.
Deputies located the suspects after finding a truck belonging to the 17-year-old's mother parked near the scene on Saturday night. Bolt cutters and gloves were inside the vehicle.
