KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Knox County Criminal Court Clerk Martha Phillips fell and broke her neck Thursday morning at her home, according to Phillips' daughter Kelly Clayton.

Clayton says Phillips was getting ready to go to work when she fell and hit her head on a coffee table.

A caregiver called 911.

Clayton says Phillips is coherent and reportedly has feeling in all of her extremities.

She is scheduled for surgery Thursday afternoon at Parkwest Medical Center.
