MADISONVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Last weekend, as temperatures neared 90 degrees, police in Madisonville say a Tellico Plains woman put her young child at great risk.

Authorities say Kristen Overly left her 4-year-old daughter in her car while she made a trip into a Wal-Mart in Madisonville.

Police, Fire and EMS were soon on the scene, as well as the Department of Children's Services.

According to Madisonville Police Chief Gregg Breeden, no charges have been filed, but there is still the possibility that Overly will face child neglect charges.

What is wrong with this woman? She needs to be put in a car that hot and left there. See how long she can stand it. Well really she needs that poor child taken from her, and not given back to her. Too many people would love to have a child and cant have them for some reason. I SAY TAKE THE CHILD AND DONT GIVE HER BACK. BAD MOM..
