SEVIER COUNTY (WVLT) – Several people were hospitalized Sunday evening following a car accident just outside Sevierville.
As of early Monday morning, the Tennessee Highway Patrol had still not released much information.
The accident occurred just after 7:00 PM at the intersection of Chapman Highway and Old Zion Hill Road.
It’s believed a late model Ford Mustang was traveling north on the highway when it crossed into oncoming traffic and struck another car head on. At least one more car was involved.
One direction of Chapman Highway was shutdown for nearly two hours while a pair of LifeStar helicopters ferried victims to area hospitals. The extent of their injuries has not yet been released.
